Reasons to pay attention to spring training numbers for fantasy baseball drafts

When battles occur between players and MLB owners, fantasy baseball players may be able to watch the current negotiations with a little optimism. After all, the sides are only 10 matches and about $ 250 million apart, and even though the dollar figure is beyond the comprehension of ordinary joes like you and me, it’s just a drop of the bucket for the party in hand. We can even see the agreements made when you find yourself reading this column, and if that’s the case, it’s time to look at some potential targets for the upcoming draft or trade.

When a season is finally announced, MLB will designate a period of three weeks for spring training. In recent years, fantasy analysts have told you to ignore spring training numbers in your evaluation. Many throwers work on new pitches or, if they just stretch, will throw fast balls. Understand that hitters have an easier time, and we not only see an increase in total ERA, but we also see strong batting averages and power numbers.

This season, you want the players who smash the ball in spring training. Their time is right on time and it is much easier to bring that momentum to the regular season. In a normal year, the bat remains hot earlier and tends to fade in the coming months. This season, not only is there a little time to fade, but the power numbers that you can see from only the first month can make you rise to the top of the standings and make it almost impossible for your competitors to catch up. While they have a hard time finding bats that are heating up, you only maintain a position thanks to some strong spring players.

You will also want to learn about team breakdown amid the alignment of new divisions. The merger of the eastern division meant the hitter would have a far more frightening time on the plate given their opposition on the mound. Think about facing the Nationals’ rotation and then joining people like Gerrit Cole, Jacob deGrom, Aaron Nola – not to mention the bullpens from Sinar and the Yankees. More than 60 or 70 games a season, you can see a serious decline in power and many strikes.

Strong spring training players and hitters who will face below-average pitching based on division rearrangements are only the first step in building a team that can run to completion in the interrupted MLB season. Focus on the bat-friendly baseball stadium for bats and pitcher-friendly spots like you see in the western division.

This will require a little extra research and a lot of forgetting what you know about the normal fantasy baseball season, but as long as the rewards keep you in the winner’s circle, that’s all that matters.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
