Farce of Portuguese Socialism in 4 Letters - Observer

When Marx, quoting Hegel, in 1852“The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte” what “All facts and characters of great importance in world history happen twice (…) The first is like a tragedy, the second is like a farce.”I would be far from thinking that this dichotomy applies to itself, perhaps in its greatest manifestation.

It is inappropriate to talk about tragedies (or tragedies). As for the slapstick, I’ll start by proposing to reflect on two scenarios:

  1. I agree that the socialist government, backed by the left-wing parliamentary coalition, after reducing support for private schools, arguing that the education of our children should be provided by the state, will promote and finance a network of private schools for the population. families of their officials, while all other citizens were forced to send their children to public schools?
  2. I agree that the socialist government, backed by the leftist parliamentary coalition, announcing the advancement of public transport, higher taxes on vehicles, fuel, tolls and parking meters, will fund private passenger transport companies to serve their employees and their employees. … families, and the rest of the population was forced to be content with collective transport?

In my opinion, these two scenarios demonstrate the inadequacy of government employee disease care (ADSE) at the same time as the National Health Service (SNS).

ADSE was created by Salazar in 1963 in a skillful, socially sensitive and financially viable way before social media existed.

Since 1976, when our republic was formed until “Pave the way to a socialist society”and above all, after 1979, when the SNC was created, ideological coherence will inevitably lead to the disappearance of the ADSE, as suggested by the so-called left, socialist and communist forces.

What happened is that a public and universal NHS was created, but government employees and retirees (and their families and dependents) continued to enjoy the exclusive privilege of using private health care.

The maintenance of the ADSE demonstrates that the so-called left, socialist and communist political parties in Portugal accept and promote the private initiative to provide discriminated services to the “elite” (civil servants) while advocating that this service is provided for recreation (private sector workers) should be managed and provided exclusively government agency.

The ADSE defense is incompatible with the defense of a state-government monopoly on the provision of health services, the denial of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in NHS hospitals, and the refusal of private hospitals, including the NHS, to serve the Portuguese. who are not government officials.

In short, maintaining ADSE is synonymous with discrediting the capabilities and quality of social media by our so-called leftist, socialist and communist politicians.

In my opinion, there is little news about the negotiation process between the three parties: ADSE, private medical companies and employees of these companies. But if this is news, then it must be pointed out that during the pandemic, while recognizing the primary role of medical workers and institutions in society, sick servants of the state began to downplay the value of health care work. specialists and hospitals.

In my opinion, what should be the news and what should be asked of our so-called left, socialist and communist politicians is how they manage to defend exclusively the public health system, attack private health services and PPPs, and at the same time defend ADSE. And the answer cannot be a generalization of ADSE to all Portuguese. This is already there, these are social networks.

During the pandemic and the pre-election period, our politicians and socially responsible media figures, especially those who claim to be leftists, socialists and communists, have the sovereign opportunity to educate people about this ideological incompatibility, which is ADSE and is consistent and viable. the political model of the health of the Portuguese.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
