On Tuesday, social media companies highlighted two of Trump’s tweets claiming a fake ballot would cause widespread voter fraud.
When asked by CNN’s Bash Fund on Tuesday whether social media companies should take action against Trump for pushing conspiracy theories that critics commit murder, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said: “I think that social media companies should re-examine whether or not – for example, if you say something – the same strange thing the president is thinking … they have to say it’s not true. ”
Twitter said Tuesday that Trump’s tweet about voting by mail did not violate company rules because they did not explicitly prevent people from voting. But, the company said, the label offers context around Trump’s claims.
Rosborough confirms that this marks the first example where Twitter mentions every Trump tweet is misleading.
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
