Robert Lewandowski broke the Bundesliga goalscoring record

Lewandowski has scored 33 goals in only 30 Bundesliga matches this season, both of which last came in the first round at the Allianz Arena when Bayern secured a 3-1 advantage at the break. There are no more scores in the second round.

Gabon star Aubameyang scored 31 in the 2016/17 season for Borussia Dortmund before he moved to his current club Arsenal in the English Premier League.

With only one round of matches left, Lewandowski still lacks an extraordinary all-time record of 40 by legendary Bayern Munich and German striker Gerd Mueller in the 1971-72 season.

But with 48 goals in 41 matches in all competitions this season, Lewandowski has plenty of opportunities to improve his overall tally when Bayern face Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup final on July 4 before continuing his bid to win the Champions League which continued in August.

Lewandowski is the top scorer in Europe’s elite competition this season with 11 goals in six matches, the last against Chelsea in the first leg of the last 16 matches won by Bayern 3-0 at Stamford Bridge in February.

Double Haaland

Meanwhile, the other Bundesliga top scorers were head-to-head when RB Leipzig Timo Werner hosted Borussia Dortmund Erling Braut Haaland.

Werner, who played his last two matches for Leipzig before joining Chelsea, drew but Norwegian magician Haaland scored in the second half to help Dortmund win a 2-0 away win which secured second place in the standings behind Bayern.

The 19-year-old Haaland, who is also associated with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs, has scored 13 goals in 14 matches since joining Dortmund from RB Salzburg last December.

Werner remained on 26 for the Bundesliga season, the second after Lewandowski.

Consolation for Leipzig, who qualified for the last eight of the Champions League, was a 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen at Hertha Berlin.

That leaves Leverkusen three points adrift of Leipzig in the battle to get an automatic qualification place for the Champions League next season with only one round left and the goal difference is much lower.

Elsewhere, it looked bleak for Werder Bremen, with a 3-1 defeat at Mainz leaving the north side down second and two points adrift of Fortuna Dusseldorf who was in the relegation playoff place.

Brighton surprised Arsenal

Meanwhile in the English Premier League, Arsenal Aubameyang suffered a second defeat in four days when Neal Maupay scored in injury time to give Brighton a 2-1 win over the Gunners.

Nicolas Pepe put Mikel Arteta’s unsteady side ahead in the 68th minute at the Amex Stadium with a dazzling shot, but host defender Lewis Dunk made use of an Arsenal suspect who survived to level seven minutes later.

It seemed set to end it all until Aaron Connolly cleverly helped the ball to Maupay, who finished neatly.

This sparked a bad incident when Maupay, who was in an aerial challenge with Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno in a first-half clash that left the Germans in pain, was involved in a fight with Matteo Guendouzi in a melee when the final whistle sounded. .

Maupay said after the match that he did not intend to hurt Leno, but had little sympathy for the other team members, claiming that they “got what they deserved” because it did not show more humility after Pepe’s opening goal.

Arsenal, who still have European qualification hopes, lost 3-0 to Manchester City last Wednesday after defender David Luiz was sent off, and the recent defeat has left the north London giants in ninth position.

Earlier, relegation fighter Watford scored the last equalizing goal to deny Leicester City victory in third place with a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road.

England wing-back Ben Chilwell appeared to have given the visitors the win with a stunning left-footed shot in the 89th minute, but Craig Dawson saved valuable points for the Hornets with an acrobatic strike on goal a few minutes later.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
