POLITICAL CONDEMNANCE OF THE ARMED FORCES
Pinto Silva Carlos Alberto [1]
Studies show that Brazilian society has complete confidence in its military, yet very few Brazilians are aware of or even do not believe in the existence of a plan to discredit, demoralize andeven try condemn in a judicial proceeding, and, consequently, to weaken the Armed Forces.
Recently, we have been faced with the unleashing of a strong offensive against the Brazilian army, either through the unprincipled use of events that had and still have consequences contrary to the interests of the Force, or through the periodic dissemination of paraphrased news. .
The armed forces, according to their detractors, represent an important “castle trench” be neutralized, and “power ideas” and “research themes” against them have a permanent presence in the media.
To protect the Armed Forces and defeat their detractors, it is necessary to know and understand what their goals are, what strategies they use and, most importantly, what their vulnerabilities are.
The goal of the Brazilian left in the current conjunctureis to demoralize, weaken or destroy the Armed Forces, therefore all soldiers are targets, regardless of whether they support athe current political structure, those who remain neutral, or even those who have participated in past governments.
Vulnerabilities of the Left (former dominant power) is bad government, corruption, lack of ethics in politics and the intention to perpetuate power in order to impose their dictatorship of the proletariat, turning Brazil into the Bolivarian Socialist Republic.
Finally, given what has been going on for some time, there is no doubt that the Brazilian left wants the Amnesty Law to be repealed, the military to be arrested, and the army forced to apologize to the nation for the “crimes” committed during the hostilities. . mode [2]. At the current political moment, the idea has cooled a little due to the conservative government.
“Revanchism, intolerance and provocation. It is forgotten that attempts to bend the column of serious and secular institutions, enjoying the wide confidence of the Brazilians, are an act cloaked in dangerous and unnecessary stupidity.” [3]
All Brazilian military personnel should read the rude warning from Samuel Huntington, ideologue of the Trilateral Commission, to the “democratizers” of the world. All potentially disloyal officers, including both the main supporters of the authoritarian regime and the military reformers who helped create the democratic regime, should be “purged or retired as soon as possible.” The latter are more likely to lose their love for democracy than their love for meddling in politics. Huntington said in his work “La Democratizacion a Fines Del Siglo 20, 1991”.
We need to look to the future. It is imperative that civilians and military strive for the necessary understanding, especially when national interests are at stake. Because, as we understand, we belong to a unique group and want the best for Brazil.
As we have said, the army was subjected to systematic attacks. For the good of the nation, the Institution must demonstrate a strong position. It is worth noting that there is no doubt that here we are talking about the necessary institutional strength, fully inscribed in the constitutional framework.
Thus, maintaining the image of the Force is of fundamental importance, since it has unmatched strategic value. In this sense, Psychological Actions, both external and internal, are valuable tools.
An army that identifies itself with the population, which has been participating in national life since time immemorial and which devotes itself daily to the defense of the Motherland, must be more than important in the perception of society: it must be fundamental for the survival of the Country.
Only by maintaining the firm stance that has characterized it throughout its history, and which is intertwined with the history of the Nation it serves, will the Force strengthen this important “castle trench” against strategies aimed at weakening it as a permanent and necessary institution for the survival of the Fatherland.
