April Highs Sales: Kylie Jenner succeeds at Bel-Air

The corona virus pandemic has done its best to slow down life in general, but that is not enough to completely paralyze the upscale real estate market of District A. Although orders remain at home and performances are limited, there have been eight sales of $ 10 million or more that closed at April. Of those, two were recorded at prices north of $ 36 million, including the new home of a young makeup maestro.

$ 43.3 million – Bel-Air

Real estate documents bind the old Georgia Frontiere area Diego Bersakin, but technology entrepreneurs are just a cover for a real buyer: a billionaire Travis Kalanick, who co-founded Uber.

Located on Bellagio Road, this area of nearly two hectares has been overhauled and expanded extensively since the Frontiere era. Measuring about 20,000 square feet, this spacious mansion has a wine cellar completed with limestone, a quiet bar space and a wooden paneled office. The two master suites are between seven bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms.

This property was first sold in 2019 for $ 75 million before seeing prices cut to $ 68 million this year.

Jeff Hyland, Linda May and Drew Fenton from Hilton & Hyland and Jade Mills from Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage hold listings. Bob Safai from Madison Partners represents the buyer.

Built in 1931 by Paul R. Williams, this Mediterranean mansion stretches over 17,000 square feet with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a number of newly renovated living rooms.

$ 36.5 million – Bel-Air

Call it the latest accessory for young mogul makeup. Reality television star and cosmetics entrepreneur Kylie Jenner, which some believe is the youngest billionaire in the world, cut a huge check for a 15,000-square-foot exhibition venue on North Mapleton Drive.

In recent years, Jenner has emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the real estate scene. The 22-year-old owns several gated houses in Hidden Hills as well as the Beverly Hills mansion he bought two years ago with partner Travis Scott. Last year, Jenner became the latest in her family to pocket land at La Quinta after she bought a lot at the Madison Club from Ron Burkle.

The new building stands on an area of one hectare with a guesthouse, basketball court, and a 5,000 square foot terrace space. Outside the minimalist vibe exterior are designer-made interiors, several lounges, bars and game rooms. Including two guest apartments, there are seven bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.

Ginger Glass of Compass holds that list.

$ 19.5 million – Bel-Air

The pandemic proved to be no problem for Lee Iacocca’s estate, the old residence of the former car titan who brought Chrysler Corp back from bankruptcy in 1979.

One hectare property on Chalon Road enters escrow in March before selling a month later to a trust associated with the personality of the “Shahs of Sunset” Lilly Halichi and her husband, Dara Mir. It has been registered for $ 25,999 million.

The Italianate-vibe house, built in 1990, features a large porch, wooden rooms and nice rooms. There are five fireplaces including two on the main retreat. A total of five bedrooms and eight bathrooms including apartments for staff.

Rick Hilton and David Kramer from Hilton & Hyland are listing agents. Kramer and colleague Kevin Anderson represent the buyer.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
