Who are Alberto Lage, Gabriel Azevedo and Vitor Colares, who are in the center of political attention BH | Minas Gerais

Currently the focus of political attention in Belo Horizonte, Adviser Gabriel Azevedo (no party), former Mayor Alexander Kalil (PSD), Chief of Staff Alberto Lage and Executive General Director of Press, Vitor Colaresshare stories of the hat gang and PSDB youth in the capital. The three also took part in Kalila’s victorious campaign.

Currently Chairperson of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of BHTrans at the City Council, Gabriel Azevedo was already a PSDB member when he helped found Turma do Chapéu in 2010.… The group sought to attract right-wing youth to actively participate in politics.

With online video and social media presence, The collective helped elect Esio Neves as Senator in 2010 and Antonio Anastasia as Governor of Minas State.… In 2012, he facilitated the re-election of Marcio Lacerda as Mayor of Belo Horizonte.

Azevedo was Anastasia’s deputy for youth affairs. He left PSDB in 2013. In 2016, PHS elected him city councilor and coordinated the campaign in support of Kalil, who was first elected mayor of PHS.

During the 2020 election campaign, Azevedo joined Patriota and was re-elected with 13,088 votes. In June of this year, the adviser was expelled from the party after he opposed the president of the republic, Jair Bolsonaro (no party).

Lage became Deputy Minister of Government and Chief of Staff of Kalila, a position he left on 31 August this year, a few days after testifying to the parliamentary commission of inquiry (CPI) of BHTrans.

Heard as a witness, Lage told council members that former BHTrans president Celio Buzada, sacked manager Adilson Elpidio, and licensed director Daniel Marks Koutu were working together to provide bus companies with an upfront opportunity to purchase transport vouchers during the pandemic.

Last Friday (1st) Lage told g1 about the proposed funding scheme for the upcoming campaign of Secretary of State Adalklever Lopez, MP. He said he went to the mayor because he thought Lopez was trying to use Kalil’s possible candidacy for governor to fund his own campaign for deputy.

  • Kalil says he doesn’t know anything about Block 2, but confirms that job promises were the trigger for Lage.

Vitor Colares, who was also a member of PSDB Youth, worked on the Kalila campaign and is currently the press director of the mayor’s office

Last week, the city council established a CPI to investigate allegations of nepotism and misuse in relation to the allocation and appointment of posts in the city hall… One of the complaints concerns the appointment of Colares’ wife as head of the executive’s digital communications department, advisers said.

In a statement, Colares said he is not and does not want to be in the spotlight.

“My job at the mayor’s office is to maintain relations with the press. The relationship with my current wife began in 2020, when we were both already at the mayor’s office, and the change of position is a natural progression in the career of a civil servant. I consider the establishment of political persecution and a sexist decision due to the fact that it is not taken into account that a woman can receive a wage increase at her own discretion, without the decisive influence of her husband. This CPI can only be a consultation with the PPD or the prosecutor’s office. The Prosecutor General’s Office has already considered her capable of taking this position. The CPI prefers to create a political platform and try to wear down the mayor, ”he said.

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario

Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!

Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.

Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.

The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.

Yesterday, the spot price closed the selling day at R$5.3103.

For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022

Germany sentenced Russian to life imprisonment for political murder by order of Moscow - 12/15/2021
BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 19 (ANSA). European Union countries reached a political agreement on Monday (19) to impose a natural gas price ceiling of 180 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). The main sources of income for Russia and the minimization of the use of energy as a weapon by the regime of Vladimir Putin.

The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .

The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.

Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.

The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.

Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.

“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.

Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.

However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
