Last week, President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro (PL) lost control of himself after YouTuber Wilker Leao called him “Chutchuca do Centrao”. The expression has already been used before as a criticism of members of the Bolsonaro government.
It was the PT federal deputy of Parana, Zeca Dirceu, who first used the term to criticize Economy Minister Paulo Guedes.
At one time, a PT MP said that Gedes acted like a “tiger” in relation to pensioners, the elderly and the disabled, but like a “chuchuk” in relation to “the most privileged group of our country.”
This happened in 2019 at a hearing at the Constitution and Justice Commission (CJJ) of the Chamber of Deputies. Gedes replied that “chuchuka is a mother and grandmother,” and the meeting was closed. The Legislative Police led the Minister out of the room.
Since then, the nickname “Tchutchuca do Centrão” refers to the relationship between the President of the Republic and the members of this political group and his alleged “subordination” to the group due to the attitude and decisions taken by the Chief Executive that were of interest to Centrão and this also went to his advantage.
After the confusion this morning, the MP, who is the son of Ze Dirceu, once again joked about the incident on Twitter.
“O Paulo Guedes This is a banking chuchuk. Republican slacker – Chuchuka do Sentao! He is out of control, TSE needs to be roughly punished for aggression against a YouTuber, ”Dirceu wrote.
Where did the term chutchuka come from?
BUT The comparison between “tchutchuca” and “tigrão” is taken from the song Bonde do Tigrão.Group funk Carioca from the 2000s. In “Chutchuk”, the band sings “Come chuchuka beautiful, sit here in your little black dress, I’ll hold you on my knees and give you lots of love” and “Go, come chuchuka, come”. here, to your Tigrao.
What is a Center?
The Centrão is a bloc formed by parliamentarians from different parties who come together to influence the Chamber and defend their interests together “regardless” of ideology or which party is in government.
From the point of view of central politics, there should be no extremism or intransigence in society. Its core values are: opposition to radicalism, supported by a balance that creates tolerance, protects peaceful coexistence.
The group has already supported FHC, Lulu, Dilma and Bolsonaro from Sarnei. The current president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), is part of the bloc.
These parties tend to organize from the center to the right wing of the political spectrum and are associated with negotiations in exchange for government positions. Because it draws hundreds of deputies, the support of the Centrão is usually critical to manageability, that is, the executive’s ability to approve government projects.
The term Centrão was used to refer to the parliamentarians who formed the majority in the Constituent Assembly that adopted the 1988 Federal Constitution. MP Roberto Cardoso of the PMDB (current MDB) was one of the founding members of the group. He became famous for the phrase “you get by giving,” which he used to explain deputies’ support for José Sarni’s government.
The current Centrão appeared in 2014 under the command of Eduardo Cugna, who was arrested for corruption during Operation Lava Jato. The deputy from Rio de Janeiro Cunha was President of the Chamber until 2016, including during the impeachment of former President Dilma Rousseff, when Centrão has strengthened its role today.
