UFC champion, Jon Jones, is willing to sit until he is paid
Jon Jones had sat down before, only this time he was willing to do it of his own volition. The UFC light heavyweight champion who is often troubled said he was willing to stay out for up to three months if he didn’t get what he thought was financially feasible to return to the octagon.
“I don’t want to fight right away,” Jones said in “Wild Ride! With the Steve-O podcast.” “I’m not interested in fighting at UFC until I get paid what I think is appropriate.
“If I have to have a bad relationship with Dana [White], sit down for two years, three years, to explain what happened, then these are things that people remember more than just winning the belt. I stand for young warriors. “
Jones has been locked in a bitter dispute with White, which escalated in May when the UFC boss publicly tore it up at a press conference. Jones has asked White to release him from his contract.
Jones said he knows UFC fighters who live in the gym because of low wages, which is part of why he is talking now. He last fought in February, defeated Dominick Reyes, and was in talks to meet heavyweight Francis Ngannou before the financial dispute began.
Jones even said he was willing to let his belt go blank unless he got what he wanted.
He is not alone: several UFC fighters have raised the same concerns. Welter class star Jorge Masvidal was among the most vocal, resisting shots to fight welterweight champion Kamaru Usman because of a low offer of the ball.
“Yes, I will fight this year,” Masvidal said on his YouTube channel. “God willing, I will fight this year. What will not happen is that I won’t be played or paid low, that’s for sure. I have value, a formula that we made for what I value, and that means 16 years doing this I am not a beginner, I am not a person who is challenging to a degree for the first time in my life.
“I have been in this position before in various organizations and goods and we know how to calculate what I carry and I want a fair share of what I carry. … It’s about how much I want to receive from pay-per-view, how many parts I want from PPV, it’s one of the many things I stand for. I do not feel that the discount is fair and I do not agree with it. “

Method Media Bermuda will present the documentary FABRIC: Portuguese History in Bermuda on Thursday, December 29 at the Underwater Research Institute of Bermuda.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.
According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”
In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.
The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.
In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.
From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.
Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.
“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.
“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
