Tyrese Haliburton will put the Knicks on the 'right track'

Iowa State point guard Tyrese Haliburton said he would not be afraid if he ended up with the Knicks, because of several projects.

“Being in New York, they always talk about the pressure of being Knick,” Haliburton the word Tuesday at ESPN’s “The Jump,” added “I feel like wherever I go, the pressure I put on myself is more than I will get from anywhere. Wherever I am, that pressure stands out and it will be more than I. I’m ready to play anywhere. ‘

Considered one of the two top point guards in the draft, 20-year-old Haliburton was not the only college product he did. He finished his second year at Iowa State and most of it flew under the radar until recently.

Haliburton dropped out of high school only as a three star recruitment, he believes, because he did not join NIKE, Adidas, the Under Armor youth circuit featuring young players. Haliburton played for his high school in Oshkosh, Wisc. and local youth programs, but are now considered top-10 pick candidates.

Haliburton finished his career at Iowa State with a career shooting percentage of 3 points 42.6 percent. He averages as a second year student 15.2 points, 6.5 assists and 5.9 assists.

The NBA lottery was supposed to be held Tuesday night, with a draft merged in Chicago featuring player measurements and team interviews that began Wednesday. Both events were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the June 25 draft is expected to be postponed too.

“I know in the end everything will be handled and (we) will soon get an answer,” Haliburton said of the draft. “People in this world, a lot of uncertainty will occur in their lives. I accept it calmly. People experience it worse than me. I will be fine. “

The Knicks, who reported to the Post in February looking for scoring point keepers in the draft, currently sits sixth in the lottery allowance.

“I think the Knicks are on the right track if they take him at 6,” said an NBA executive.

The latest draft mock from Post have Haliburton go to the Knicks with the sixth pick, and LaMelo Ball headed to Warriors with pick No. 1

Haliburton 6-foot-5 checks many boxes with its ability to run high and long basketball IQs in defense. It weighs only 175 pounds and the upside is not as high as Ball, which is preferred as a pick point guard top.

“I’m a fan of Haliburton,” an NBA guide told The Post. “I think he really knows how to play. He has an extraordinary height for an extraordinary position and length. However, he was very thin. He also had to fix his shot because of the low release point. But he has a touch and can shoot from afar.

“He has the knowledge and ability to survive but needs to add strength). He leads and competes. He is a very good prospect. Physical is a question but instead one of the better and more mature carers in a weak concept. “

Asked by ESPN about the shooting mechanics being criticized, Haliburton said, “The most important part for me is that he entered and I think it came in at a pretty high clip. I experimented from my first and second years, but my efforts only got better. “

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
