Tragic Use of Politics - Observer

How was the dinner at this family’s house? Empty place. Cold soup. An ominous silence, broken by the ringing of a cell phone. Start. I can’t imagine the woman’s reaction when she was informed that her husband had a serious accident on the A6 and that, as a tragedy, he would be late as he would still have to go through the ministry to collect some documents. Poor soul. What did you do with the pancakes? Did you keep it in the refrigerator? And with malandrinho rice? Tomorrow they will be smashed. This is how a meal is dishonored at a fateful moment.

“What I don’t want is to be involved, even as a passenger, in a situation as dramatic as this,” said Eduardo Cabrita. I perfectly understand this as meanness. Just a mortal victim in the form of a corpse, if he’s involved in anything else, it’s just a plastic bag. No more worries. And Cabrita, who is acting like a poor fellow now, is very sad. He survived the scandal of people who, as concerned citizens, have the audacity to ask questions such as “why is the MAI communiqué as an official government message lying about the signs?” or “like a battering ram, how fast the car was circling?” Cabrita deserves a hug. This is a posthumous apology, which he simply did not receive due to obvious dislike.

It is clear that Eduardo Cabrita is not to blame. accident. He was not the one who drove the car, he just took the place of the spray on the dead person. Nobody can blame you for the absence of brake signs on the road. What people find odd is the lack of brake marks on the Cabrita’s underwear. Yes Yes. His machine strokes a man, and Eduardo Cabrita does not even flinch, he is in complete control of the situation and the sphincter. You are collecting a corpse. No sign of worry. Not in underwear, not in an official statement. All you have to do is read this and notice Kabrita’s attitude towards realizing that his interest is to blame a dead person. That is why he hints that the victim showed negligence, despite the fact that the investigation is underway and the circumstances of the disaster have not yet been determined – although, in his defense, if there is a specialist in professional negligence, it is Eduardo Cabrita.

The communiqué says the work was not reported, which has already been denied by Brisa. Perhaps they were both right: there were signs, but Cabrita did not see it. Anyone who follows his career in government knows that Cabrita is not good at seeing signs. Even the most obvious ones. In fact, he still has a career in government.

With such a willingness to absolve himself of responsibility, if Cabrita drew a sketch of an accident for an insurance company, he was definitely a fraud.

In Portugal, when a public tragedy strikes the dead, be it a fire or a collapsed road, there are politicians who immediately start to shake. They know that they are going to be confused in the newspapers, becoming the targets of notorious accusations. No, this is not about the politicians controlling the sector who are considered institutionally responsible. These are opposition politicians who will be accused of using death to attack the government. The so-called political exploitation of the tragedy. This time, however, it is not the political use of the tragedy that stands out, but the tragic use of the politician: when Antonio Costa insists on going into the box to overwork his friend Cabrito in government, he tragically takes advantage of the politician. …

But the prime minister knows his business. He knows that Eduardo Cabrita is a risk and he does everything to reduce it. This is why he imposed a mandatory curfew from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am. Due to the fact that the Portuguese spend less time on the street, they do not have many opportunities to be run over by Eduardo Cabrita and his drug dealer’s car. (For the record, I don’t think there is a problem with Cabrita using an arrested car just because it belongs to a criminal. The owner of the car does not affect the mood of the passenger. batmobilealso set out to fight crime in Gotham?)

However, Cabrita has already warned that he will not retire. He claims that his credentials were in line with “the best safety record in four years” that Portugal has ever seen. You are humble. He only mentions the index fingers and puts the middle fingers down. The fact is that he, too, was tired of showing them to the Portuguese. Smokeless collars? Take your middle finger there. SIRESP screwed up? Take another one. Death of Igor Khomenyuk? Other. Sports celebrations? Another. Noise in Zmara? Another hysteria. Immigrants in Kashias? Middle finger in the air. With so many handcuffs, he is no longer a member of the government, it is bully in the support squad. Minister Cabrita as a person is not a person.

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario

Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!

Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.

Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.

The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.

Yesterday, the spot price closed the selling day at R$5.3103.

For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022

Germany sentenced Russian to life imprisonment for political murder by order of Moscow - 12/15/2021
BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 19 (ANSA). European Union countries reached a political agreement on Monday (19) to impose a natural gas price ceiling of 180 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). The main sources of income for Russia and the minimization of the use of energy as a weapon by the regime of Vladimir Putin.

The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .

The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.

Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.

The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.

Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.

“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.

Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.

However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
