To run as a politician with a mandate, he will have to resign, defends Carone

Published

If elected Senator of the Republic, Candidate Carone (Aguir) says he will defend Espirito Santo. In an interview with ESHOJE, he said that he does not want to enter into a fight between the executive and the judiciary, but wants to work in the interests of the state of Espírito Santo.

“The guy goes there to argue with the Supreme (Federal Court). I am not here to argue with God. Supreme has a problem with the president, the problem is with the president, not with me. I have to take care of our state. That none of them care. That’s why I want to be a senator for Espirito Santo to take care of our state. This is mine, this is my goal.”

Idalecio Carone Jr., a 75-year-old businessman from Espírito Santo, was the development secretary in Vila Velha at MDB-linked Gestão Max Filho. He even spoke to Brasil 35 and other acronyms before signing the affiliation form and becoming the president of Agir.

Among the bills he intends to bring up for discussion in Congress is one that would prevent a politician with a mandate from running without resigning. “One of the projects that we are going to work on in the Senate is one in which the candidate, if he has the position of deputy or senator and wants to run for mayor, must resign. Because if he loses, he’s still a deputy or a senator, and that’s wrong. If he runs for some position, he must leave the place, because if not, then he slows down and does not let anyone in, ”he specified.

In addition to Carone, capixab has 8 other Federal Senate candidates: Antonio Bungenstab (PRTB), Colonel Lugato (DC), Eric Musso (Republicans), Felipe Skeeter (PSTU), Gilbertino Campos (PSOL), Magno Malta (PL) , Nelson Junior (Avante) and Rose de Freitas (MDB). They all responded to a monthly survey sent out by ESHOJE.

The candidate has Cesar Assrey of Rio de Janeiro and Luciano Xerox of Serrano as his deputies.

Read what Carone said:

What is missing from the ES bench in the Federal Senate?
Lack of work. This is a shame on the face and work. If you don’t, go there to eat and sleep. You understand? I am a working person. I will work there, I will fight for our state, for our Holy Spirit. You understand? I think the guy from Pernambuco, the senator from Pernambuco, should take care of him in Pernambuco. I will take care of our Holy Spirit.

How did you choose your deputies?
I chose a man who worked for two presidential campaigns, worked for four governors and for many years was the director of the Federal Chamber, people who know – I can’t put a man there who knows nothing. And the second deputy is a person who works in some trade unions, an active person from the mountains, right? So I think you should bring in such a person, nothing more, sponsor a little politician here, because he will give you half a dozen votes. I don’t want to know about it. Hm?

Will your deputies be able to take office at some point in the next 8 years? Will they have a role/position during their term of office?
It will be as needed. If I get sick, they’ll have to take over. But they will help me in my mandate, they will have action, we must work for our people, Espirito Santo. Enough of these foreigners who come here to Espiritu Santo, win votes, win elections and do nothing for our state. I will do it, I am a working man.

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario

Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!

Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.

Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.

The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.

Yesterday, the spot price closed the selling day at R$5.3103.

For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022

Germany sentenced Russian to life imprisonment for political murder by order of Moscow - 12/15/2021
BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 19 (ANSA). European Union countries reached a political agreement on Monday (19) to impose a natural gas price ceiling of 180 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). The main sources of income for Russia and the minimization of the use of energy as a weapon by the regime of Vladimir Putin.

The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .

The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.

Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.

The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.

Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.

“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.

Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.

However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
