The shooting in Syracuse left 9 injured people with their 17-year-old head

The shooting in Syracuse left 9 injured people with their 17-year-old head

At least nine people were injured when a gunfire erupted Saturday night at an open party in Syracuse, including a 17-year-old boy who was left in critical condition after he was shot in the head, according to reports.

The victims were rushed to Upstate Medical University after shooting near Fayette and Wyoming roads, Chief of Police Kenton Buckner said, according to The Post-Standard.

An eyewitness said the bullets began flying at an open annual meeting called “Rye Day,” which was scheduled to end at 9 pm, the news agency reported.

Several hundred people gathered in a square near the WCNY building to enjoy the celebration, including music and food.

Shortly before 9 pm, at least a dozen shots were heard, spreading joy, an eyewitness told the newspaper, adding that a man sitting on his knees was holding his chest with his hand.

I said, “Come on, friend, we have to go! They fired! ” Said the witness. “He said, ‘I can’t, man, I’m shot.’ So he just sat there waiting for help. “

He added: “When I departed, at least 10 police cars flew, flew, flew.”

One person was taken to hospital in a private vehicle collided with a police car, according to the police chief, who said no one was arrested around 11 pm

The age of the victims ranged from 17-53, including several who were shot in the leg and a man who was shot in the neck. The 53-year-old man is a woman who was shot in the back and stomach, the outlet reported.

Buckner told reporters that the incident was first referred to as a complaint of stolen vehicles, WSYR-TV reports.

“I’m sure we have two or three different scenes, so I don’t know which locations contributed to what victims,” he said, CNN reported.

Mayor Ben Walsh said he was not aware of the city’s agreement being issued for the meeting.

“We will not issue approval for a meeting this big. So, we have to see how that happens, “he added, according to CNN.

Rye Day is the brainchild of Ryedell Davis, who has been holding a hectic birthday party for 14 years near Martin Luther King Boulevard and South State Street, his mother Annetta Peterson told The Post-Standard.

But this year, city housing officials told him that he could not arrange party tasks for traffic problems so the event was moved to the square on the Near West Side, he added.

Peterson said the event had always been peaceful until this year.

“I throw a birthday party for my son every year, and this never happens,” he said. “This never happened.”

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
