Rayshard Brooks' photo shoot might be justified

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani believes that the fatal police shooting of Rayshard Brooks is different from the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers and said the video of a meeting outside a fast food restaurant in Atlanta could “justify the use of this power.”

“Whatever the Atlanta shootings, that’s not the case of George Floyd,” Giuliani write on Twitter Sunday morning. “This video seems to present circumstances that can justify the use of this violence.”

“The only position responsible is to postpone the assessment until a full investigation is carried out,” he added.

Brooks, 27, was shot by an Atlanta police officer Friday night after he failed a calm test and fought with officers when they tried to take him into custody, according to a video released by the Georgia Investigation Bureau.

Brooks grabbed one of the Taser’s officers as they wrestled in the parking lot outside Wendy and escaped.

The officers chased after Brooks who at one point turned and appeared to fire Taser.

At that time, an officer fired three times at Brooks, a video show.

The incident sparked widespread unrest in Atlanta, which was on the brink of Floyd’s death in Minneapolis on May 25.

Protests burned Wendy and blocked the road in a demonstration that lasted until Sunday morning.

Giuliani, one of President Trump’s personal lawyers, also called for protests for burning a fast food joint.

“Rayshard Brooks: protesters burned Wendy when police officers were fired https://gu.com/p/e45ph/stw#img-1…. THIS IS NOT A PEACEFUL PROTESTATION. THIS IS ARSON! ARREST ?, “he said.

Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields resigned on Saturday.

One officer, Garrett Rolfe, was dismissed and the other, Devin Brosnan, was placed as an administrative leave.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said, Brooks shouldn’t be shot.

“Although there may be debate as to whether this is an appropriate use of the power of death, I strongly believe that there is a clear difference between what you can do and what you must do,” Bottoms said at a press conference on Saturday. “I do not believe that this is a justified use of lethal force.”

Floyd was killed after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee against Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes after he was arrested on suspicion of trying to issue fake $ 20 bills.

Floyd was handcuffed and unarmed.

Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder. Three other officers who participated in Floyd’s detention have been charged with aiding and abetting.

All four officers have been fired.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
