Portuguese in the UK can travel and apply for residence with an expired Citizen Card.

Residents of the United Kingdom of Portugal can travel to Portugal and apply for post-Brexit resident status with an expired citizen card, Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities Berta Nunes confirmed Wednesday in London.

The Portuguese government has extended the validity of the citizen card until December 31 due to restrictions on services provided by public services caused by the covid-19 pandemic.

Since the UK government resumed international travel on Monday for nonessential reasons and Portugal was greenlisted to exclude quarantine upon return to the UK, many Portuguese have sought information about travel with expired documents.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.
