Politicians and friends mourn the death of Ronaldo Azevedo Carvalho, who was a state and federal deputy for the state of Minas Gerais. Former mayor of Santa Rita do Sapuca twice, he was 80 years old and suffered a stroke. He was survived by Raquel Vasconcelos, her children Tatiana, Bernardo and Isabela, as well as six grandchildren.

José Francisco Rezek, former President of the Federal Supreme Court and former judge of the Hague Court, defines his friend as “a charming personality, a prominent figure in the political scenario of Brazil of our time.” Their friendship of over 70 years began on the benches of the Delfim Moreira school band in Santa Rita do Sapuca. “May God receive him in glory,” says Rezek.
