Parana leaves the polls with a new political group: Lavayatismo.

The name apparently refers to the people who supported or integrated Operation Lava Jato, which was headquartered in Curitiba. The speeches of Senator-elect Sergio Moro (UB) and the federal MP with the most votes this year, Deltana Dallagnola (PODE), confirm that Lava Jato has given them electoral density. But that’s not all, the duo’s performance also shows that they have short, medium and long term plans.
In the first interview given after the election, Moro, a retired veteran Alvaro Diaz (PODE), recalled that he received little support from other political groups. “Our only duty is to the voters”pinned the elected senator, explaining that his candidacy “against the political system”. Also on the 200+ list is Rosangela Moro (UB) from Parana, who was elected by São Paulo in a campaign based on the defense of Lava Hato.
In the Legislative Assembly of Paraná, Dallagnol elected his godson Fabio Oliveira (PODE). Oliveira was unknown to the electorate and he ran a campaign based on his relationship with former Chief Prosecutor Lava Jato.
Despite both being part of the Ratinho Junior (PSD) allied arc, there are clear indications that this was just a one-time issue. Moro’s campaign sectors, for example, did not like the re-elected governor’s apparent support for Paulo Martins (PL), who came second in the Senate race.
