New Portuguese Golden Visa

O novo Golden Visa português

Portugal will continue to have one of the best programs in Golden Visa all over the world. Despite the changes introduced by the new law, namely with regard to the purchase of real estate and the minimum investment value, the 8 options available in the new Portuguese law cover all the needs of international mobility.

New edition passport Dorado Luso will start on the first day of 2022 and will guarantee more simplified procedures for Portuguese citizenship applicants. If the chosen investment method is new venture capital funds specially created by the government of Lisbon for this purpose, the application process will become less bureaucratic and even faster.

The changes will apply to all new applications for citizenship that are submitted from January 1 of the following year, and are based on two fundamental points: first, a slight increase in the minimum investment amounts; secondly, with regard to real estate investments, the imposition of restrictions on acceptable locations. Buying a home in the “land” still qualifies for a golden visa, provided that it is not located in Chiado or Ribeira.

The minimum investment ranges from 350 to 500 thousand euros, but this money can be used in different projects. In scientific research, participation in funds intended for the capitalization of companies – at least 60% of the amount is sold in Portugal – or even in the creation or strengthening of capital for companies headquartered in Portugal. All this is combined with the creation of permanent jobs for at least 3 years.

As for purely real estate investments, which until now have been the main reason for Brazilian investments in Portugal, the minimum investment cost for the acquisition of real estate has not even changed – it remains at 350 and 500 thousand euros, respectively, for the purchase of houses. outside of large cities. Although Lisbon and Porto are abroad, it is still possible to “be Portuguese” by buying a home in great locations such as Madeira and the Azores or, for example, the university cities of Coimbra, Braga, Evora and Castelo Branco.

But the most important change is the mindset of those who choose Portugal as their savings destination. Previously, investing in Portugal was seen as a means to an end – having an EU passport. Today Portugal is increasingly becoming an end in itself; place for investment and earnings.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
