Following the official announcement at Nintendo Direct E3 2021 this Tuesday (15), Metroid dread (Switch) has received new information from Nintendo.

In a video released by the company shortly after the online presentation, Metroid series producer Yoshio Sakamoto talks a little more about the game’s development. In his testimony, it was confirmed that the Spanish studio MercurySteam, which worked on
Metroid: The Return of Samus (3DS) is co-producing the game with Nintendo.

Additionally, Sakamoto shows that Dread is in fact a direct continuation of Metroid fusion (GBA) and this Switch game has its origins in the eponymous Nintendo DS project, which was canceled about 15 years ago. According to him, the game will complete the Samus and Metroid story arc. Watch the video:

ABOUT official site of the game also published news about EMMI robots and set of movements Samus on her adventure:

O TERROR DOS EMMI

Extra-Planetary Multi-Format Mobile Identifiers, or EMMIs, are large, highly maneuverable exploration robots that have been sent to planet ZDR by the Galactic Federation to capture and extract DNA from unknown beings. But now, for some reason, they are relentlessly pursuing Samus. The EMMI protective coating is believed to be made from the most durable material in the universe. Samus’s attacks deflect from them, so the best option is to simply run away.

IMPROVED ACTIONS

Samus’ basic actions have been improved to make using them more satisfying than ever. Below we will introduce you to some of your actions, presented in the promotional trailer.

Counter Melee e Dash Melee

With a suitable melee meter, Samus can attack the enemy’s weak point. This ability was first introduced in Metroid: Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS ™ console, and in this release, it can use Dash Melee movement while running. This helps Samus use counters as offensive actions, jumping close to the enemy and counterattacks.

WORLD BOOKS

Samus can aim and shoot from any angle. In Metroid: Samus Returns, Samus had to be on the ground to aim freely. She can now also fine-tune the crosshairs by moving in the direction she is looking.

SLIDE

Glide is a new action in the series, allowing Samus to move around a small space without stopping.

SPIDER MAGNET

With this new ability, Samus can move, shoot, and even fight back while hanging from the wall. This can only be used on blue magnetic stripes attached to selected walls and ceilings.

In addition to the advertised amiibo, Samus’ doll offers an additional reservoir of energy when scanned, increasing health by 100. It can be read again a day to gain more energy. ABOUT figure The EMMI robot gives the player a Missle + tank, which increases the missile power by 10. When you scan it again, the missile supply is replenished.

Nintendo also announced that the title will receive a Special Edition, which includes a cartridge, a business metal, five game art cards, and a 190-page book containing works of art from all five main games in the series.

Metroid Dread launches on Switch on October 8.
