Mumbai:
Actor Kangana Ranaut, who is caught in a bitter altercation with ruling Maharashtra Shiv Sena over comments about the Sushant Singh Rajput case and the demolition of her Mumbai office, met with Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Sunday evening. Ms. Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli, was also present.
The meeting will take place days after Ms. Ranaut’s Mumbai office was partially demolished by civilian officials in what she claims was retaliation for comments that criticized the state’s attitude towards the Sushant Rajput case and compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir ( PoK).
“I told him about the unfair treatment of me. I hope that justice will be restored to me, and the faith of all citizens, including young girls, in the system will be restored. I am fortunate that the governor listened to me, as did his own daughter.” Ms Ranaut told ANI news agency after the meeting.
Outraged Shiv Sena pounced on Ranaut33 years after her performance, senior leader Sanjay Raut used insults and another threatened to hit the actor.
Governor, Friday met with Adviser to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thakkerey during the demolition of Ms Ranaut’s office; Mr. Koshyari expressed his displeasure with the actions of Mumbai’s civil society, according to the PTI news agency.
Last week, the Bombay High Court stopped the demolition of Ms. Ranaut’s office in the fashionable Pali Hills district of Mumbai after she filed a petition. It was a great victory for her. the court postponed the consideration of the case until September 22…
The day before the High Court’s ruling, officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) began demolishing Ms Ranaut’s office.
The public association said the actor had 14 “violations” at the site, including a toilet apparently built in a space designated for a kitchen and an office equipped in an area designated for a toilet. Ms Ranaut, who actively supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said she has the necessary permits.
The High Court noted that the demolition of the building occurred while the actor was out of state – in Himachal Pradesh – and only gave 24 hours to respond.
Ms Ranaut, who also approached Uddhav Thackeray on this issue, also faced two police complaints accusing her of profanity and an attempt to “belittle and challenge the dignity” of the chief minister.
In a video posted to social media last week, the actor called Mr. Thackeray “you“saying:”Uddhav Thackeray, tujhe kya lagta hai? (what do you think?) That you colluded with the mafia, demolished my house and took revenge on me? My house was demolished today, tomorrow your arrogance will collapse. “
Thackeray said this morning that he ready to face any storm that comes his way… “Whatever storms hit the state, be it natural or political, the government fights against them,” he said.
