QUESTION 01

Informal Template: WRONG

The text is dominated by narrative and prescriptive typologies.

QUESTION 02

Informal Template: RIGHT

In fact, a person of the present is mentioned, that is, a modern person.

QUESTION 03

Informal Template: RIGHT

Since the article before the feminine possessive pronoun is optional, an accent indicating a failure in the basic feminine phrase “a seu volta” is optional.

QUESTION 04

Informal Template: RIGHT

Calm business! The relative pronoun “where” takes the preceding “place”.

QUESTION 05

Informal Template: RIGHT

By digressions we mean the interruption by the author of the narration in order to present reflections, value judgments and various comments. This is what the author of the text does in individual parenthesized passages.

QUESTION 06

Informal Template: WRONG

I understand that there is one main character in the text, but not one character. In a certain passage, the author with a surprised look recalls the relatives of the protagonist, who huddle at the foot of the stairs. This small part in the plot already makes them minor characters.

QUESTION 07

Informal Template: WRONG

The protagonist – the interlocutor of the narrative voice – simply obeys the commands of the narrator. Hence, nothing is known about the script.

QUESTION 08

Informal Template: WRONG

The narrator invites the protagonist to act as if nothing exotic is happening. This can be seen in the excerpts: “make the most calm gestures”, “But do not go too far and immediately go up to your room …”, “Go down without haste, step by step, tolerant of surprise …”. Thus, orders do not require extravagance in movements, but naturalness.

QUESTION 09

Informal Template: RIGHT

In fact! These are synonymous words. Even if you don’t know the meaning, you can make sure that the proposed change brings consistency to the text and is thus a good indicator of synonymous relationship.

QUESTION 10

Informal Template: RIGHT

In fact! “If” carries the idea of reflexivity. It can be replaced with “yourself”.

QUESTION 11

Informal Template: WRONG

Any mention of cognitive deficits implies that the society has mental retardation. This is not true. What happens is that society recognizes that it does not know certain subjects, but is willing to seek this knowledge.

QUESTION 12

Informal Template: RIGHT

Modern science, according to the text, admits its ignorance of many subjects, thus adopting a modest posture. Likewise, Darwin never considered himself “the last of biologists” and did not propagandize that he had discovered the “riddle of life”, thereby showing correspondence with modern science.

QUESTION 13

Informal Template: WRONG

The text speaks of cohesion, dynamism, but not justice.

QUESTION 14

Informal Template: WRONG

One of the differences between modern science and ancient traditions lies precisely in the fact that it is aware of the lack of knowledge on the basic problems of mankind.

QUESTION 15

Informal Template: RIGHT

Calm business! In fact, the subject of “receiving” is hidden and refers to the “individual” as explained in the previous period.

QUESTION 16

Informal Template: RIGHT

In fact! The result would be: “… but this presents a serious problem that most of our ancestors did not have to face: our current assumption that we do not know everything, and that even our knowledge is temporary, extends to common myths that allow millions of strangers cooperate effectively ”.

The passage after the colon describes in detail for the reader what the problem is that the person has not yet encountered.

QUESTION 17

Informal Template: RIGHT

The suggestion to rewrite leads to a logical, meaningful text. In this way, (logical) consistency is maintained.

QUESTION 18

Informal Template: WRONG

In this pair of sentences, not a causal relationship is defined, but a comparison.

QUESTION 19

Informal Template: RIGHT

In the form of the verb “to have” the subject is “biologists”. With the proposed exchange, the verb form “ha” has no subject, since the verb “haver” in the sense of “to exist” is impersonal. The proposed rewrite preserves the fix, but changes the original syntactic relationships.

QUESTION 20

Informal Template: WRONG

The expression “since then” is a causal conjunctive phrase.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
