Faced with increasing violence in their territories, in a constant struggle against the time frame and anti-indigenous policies of the current government, indigenous leaders present in the federal capital this week – from June 20 to 23 – will issue a press release. and the community on Thursday 23. The speech will take place during the Political Act with sacred rituals, in Tres Poderes Square, in front of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), at 14:30 (Brazil time). A press conference will also be held there, followed by the release of the documentary film “Struggle for the Earth”.

O political act will consist of Terena, Caingan, Tuxa, Xoleng, Tupinamba, Carapo, Guarani Nhandeva, Guarani Kiowa, Takaiwra, Sinta Larga, Caripuna, Tukano, Makuksi, Wapichana, Taurepang, Mura and Marubo indigenous peoples, which were held throughout this week a series of meetings and hearings: with parliamentarians in the National Congress; in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC); in the National Council of Justice (CNJ); in the Federal Supreme Court; at the National Indian Foundation (Funai); in addition to participating in the “Seminar on the Constitutional Regime of Indigenous Lands in Brazil” at the University of Brasilia (UN), which was attended by indigenous representatives, partners, academics and lawyers.

BUT press conference it will include representatives from the Association of the Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (Apib) and regional grassroots organizations. After the announcement launch of the documentary film “Fight for the Earth”. Created by young Indigenous Communicators, the work brings together images and feelings in one of the most important moments of the Indigenous struggle against the time frame and the decision of Emergency Appeal 1,017,365 regarding the demarcation of Indigenous lands in the country. In an effort to support their voices in defense of their lives and territories, indigenous communicators and producer Sal Films will take part in this moment.

This Thursday, June 23, actions against the time frame will be held throughout the country: in Brazil, in the territories and on social networks. Earlier this month, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) withdrew from decision of the Extraordinary Court of Appeal (RE) 1 017 365, this will determine the future of the demarcation of indigenous land across the country. The court was supposed to enter the agenda this Thursday, June 23, but the vote was postponed for the third time.

Thus, the temporal thesis suggests limiting the demarcation of indigenous lands to only those territories proven to be in indigenous possession on October 5, 1988, the date of the promulgation of the Constitution. The Indigenous Thesis, on the other hand, recognizes the rights of Indigenous Peoples as emerging, that is, prior to the state itself. It is important for the Indigenous Movement that the STF reject the deadlines as soon as possible, as this proposal is an incentive for traffickers, miners, loggers and land grabbers.

Our struggle for our territories, for our lives, without our territories, our lives will be in danger, as well as the lives of all creatures that live on this planet. The Brazilian Constitution guarantees the rights to our territories, and only the proposal of a time frame already violates this Constitutional and Inheritance Law. We cannot accept the violation of our rights, we cannot accept the fact that our lives continue to be taken. That is why we also ask for justice for Bruno and Dom, our fight for our rights, for our lives, for those who came before us and for those who are yet to come.

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario

Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!

Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.

Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.

The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.

Yesterday, the spot price closed the selling day at R$5.3103.

For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022

Germany sentenced Russian to life imprisonment for political murder by order of Moscow - 12/15/2021
BRUSSELS, DECEMBER 19 (ANSA). European Union countries reached a political agreement on Monday (19) to impose a natural gas price ceiling of 180 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). The main sources of income for Russia and the minimization of the use of energy as a weapon by the regime of Vladimir Putin.

The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .

The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.

Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.

The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.

Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.

“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.

Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.

However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
