Heard in court, young men accused of murder over the death of Samuel Luis, a young homosexual who was beaten to death in A Coruña, Spain, clashed with what happened on the night of the July 3 crime.
According to La Voz de Galicia, which had access to videotaped testimonies of young people in court before a judge, Diego, Alejandro and Catherine refused to answer questions from prosecutors, answering only questions from their lawyers. Only Cayo Amaral answered all the questions asked.
Diego Marzoa, who, according to the investigation, was the first to attack Samuel, said that he did not attack the young man “either alone or simultaneously.” [com outra pessoa]… For his part, Alejandro says that on the night of the fatal he showed up at the police station, but was told that “there is no one there,” so he will have to return the next day.
The two were arrested, and DNA data directly links them to Samuel’s death.
Catherine, Diego’s friend, reported that she did not know, did not speak, did not insult or attack the dead young man. “I looked at it early on, but then I left and I don’t know what happened,” he said.
These reports contradict reports from another suspect, Kayo, who explains that he never entered the bar where Samuel and his friends were, and that he was warned about the beating by his girlfriend. He says that he saw “Alejandro and Diego beat up a boy on the seashore” and that he tried to separate them, after which he saw Samuel walking backwards. “Then they attacked him from behind.” It was at this point that two Senegalese men tried to rescue Samuel and “intended to take him to the Gasthof area.” The investigation indicates that at this time, Caio, Alejandro, Catherine, another friend and Diego went to the same place where the attacks ended.
Kayo says he saw “how they pushed him over the trash cans” and how Sameul “fell helpless when Alejandro hit him.” The young man assures that Katherine was with her boyfriend throughout the crime and that Alejandro repeatedly attacked Samuel over and over again. “He took off his coat, gave it to Katie and went back to the boy,” he said, explaining that Alejandro was wearing a white T-shirt, coat and trainers.
Caio left Samuel’s cell phone behind and says he was offered € 100 for the device. He ended up throwing it in the trash because he realized that “it was Samuel and he got scared.”
Caio’s statement was especially significant regarding the outfit Alejandro wore that night: a white T-shirt. This is due to the fact that one of the witnesses, heard by the judge, reported about the terrible scenario he saw.
Samuel was lying on the ground. He screamed in pain from the blows he received while three young men kicked him. Among them was a man in a white T-shirt who held a razor and said, “I’m going to stick this in my chest and you will die. The young woman tried unsuccessfully to stop him, since Samuel was already on the ground “after being hit in the face with a bottle.”
