HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 review

The title of this article leaves no room for doubt, and this article is devoted to the analysis of excellent Elitebook 840 Aero G8new ultrabook from HP. BUT HP managed to make the device really premiumwith elegant design, amazing performance and, above all, efficiency.

And when I say it has amazing performance, it’s because it has everything the vast majority of users need. It features an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe graphics, and a beautiful 14″ FullHD IPS display.

In terms of workmanship, this Elitebook 840 is a silver aluminum laptop that comes straight out of the box. In addition to being a really thin device, HP hasn’t overlooked something very important – connectivity. In total we have 4 USB ports, 2 Type-A and 2 Type-C. These Type-C ports offer speeds similar to Thunderbolt 3, up to 40Gbps.

There’s also a full-size HDMI 1.4b video port and a 3.5mm headphone port. In addition, we also have a 4G SIM card slot and a “round” power port.

It has a beautiful 14-inch IPS screen and FullHD resolution, which impressed me. It is capable of reproducing images with really high quality, which together with its sound system is “made” Bang and Olufsenwe managed to get a fantastic multimedia experience.

The side bezels are really thin, however the top and bottom bezels are slightly larger.

The HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 has a chiclet-style keyboard, and I can really say that I like it. In addition to being comfortable and accurate, this is one of the quietest keyboards I’ve ever tried on a laptop, and it makes a difference for someone who has to type for hours every day. It’s a really shallow keyboard, which is increasingly common in ultrabooks, but luckily HP didn’t take it to the extreme as it didn’t compromise on its usability.

HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8

As for the trackpad, it’s really big, making the most of all the space it can on deck. It uses Microsoft Precision drivers, runs exceptionally smoothly, is quiet, and has a nice click.

If all of the above doesn’t make this laptop really interesting, then know that its performance is the best possible in this range. CPU Intel Core i7-1165G716 GB RAM and graphics Intel Iris He.

When I tested the EliteBook 840 Aero G8, I used it for everything I need from a PC, including work and play. As you can imagine, most of my work is done with multiple browsers open and running at the same time, social media, email, and a few other tools, all working at the same time. And I have never felt a lack of performance. Everything is very smooth, and done very quickly.

I’m not a big fan of PC games, but I had to test the performance of this Intel Iris Xe, so I decided to install Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. To my surprise, the game started. Of course, it was noted that this is not a gaming laptop, but the game went.

Its SSD is 512GB and being an SSD it lacks speed as it is light years ahead of conventional hard drives.

Battery life is something that puzzled me a bit. Checking the screen that this laptop has with the hardware inside, I did not expect big miracles. However, so far he has managed to surprise me. It’s not the best laptop I’ve ever held in my hands in terms of battery life, but I can assure you that I was able to work with it for 6 hours straight without seeing the charger. This is good? For me, I think it’s really an adjusted value, 7 hours of work, which, despite not being very demanding on processing, is 7 hours of screen time.
HP says this EliteBook 840 Aero G8 has a battery life of 14.5 hours of video playback, which I believe is possible…but offline.

Final verdict HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8

To be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for this laptop. Despite the good specs, I thought it was just another laptop, but I was wrong and HP managed to surprise me.

As you may have noticed throughout the review, I don’t have any major negatives to point out. I could complain about the graphics card, but I don’t think anyone buys a 14″ laptop to play games, or at least shouldn’t, and this HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 was definitely not designed for that. so I can’t even pick it up right now.

at the beginning of everything

Perhaps the only thing I can note is the lack of a Thunderbolt 3 port, which I miss in some situations, and the noise that sometimes comes from your fan.

As for your operating system, it comes with Windows 10 Prowhich works fine on this machine. Upgrading to Windows 11 is available for free, but I didn’t do it because I don’t own the laptop.

Otherwise, in terms of design, finish, processor, memory, drive and screen, this is a great laptop that will definitely not let you down in any situation.

So my note for this laptop is:
