Hot Property: Beverly Hills House gets 18 offers in 24 hours

Even in the pandemic upheaval, offers began to enter immediately.

The day after an opportunity outside the market in Beverly Hills was discovered in late March, when Los Angeles County residents adjusted to new orders to stay at home, the listing agent found the inbox flooded and the telephone rang. It seems that everyone wants a piece of property, which is marketed via email. In the first 24 hours, there were dozens of calls on the property and 18 offers were made.

“I know we will see some action, I just don’t know how much,” said Paul Salazar, listing agent at Hilton & Hyland.

The house on North Bedford Drive, a popular street in the Flats section, received a total of 22 offers, according to Salazar. Potential buyers are a mix of end users – buyers who want to remodel and stay at home – and developers want to knock down existing structures and buildings. In the end, it was the end user who bought the property for $ 6.75 million.

Italian-style homes on North Bedford Drive received 18 offers in the first 24 hours marketed for sale at the end of March, despite restrictions on living in new homes that were applied to residents of Los Angeles.

The Italian-style house, built in 1928, has four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and more than 3,500 square feet. A large motorbike field is located in front of the property covering one third.

Salazar believes home marketing as an outside market opportunity gives him more exclusivity, but excitement begins to diminish when “everyone starts watching the news” and the reality of the corona virus comes in. In addition, about one third of buyers, especially those who carry mortgages, were ruled out because of concerns that loans might be frozen due to a pandemic.

“It looks like it will be a big bidding war, but eventually it will be a long negotiation with 3-4 buyers going back and forth,” Salazar said.

If the pandemic never happened, Salazar was sure that the property would sell for about $ 1 million more.

While coronaviruses have stifled sales throughout Southland, the upscale market in the County continues to produce a steady stream of millions of dollars of transactions.

In April, there were eight sales of $ 10 million or more including two offers in the north of $ 36 million at the nearby Bel-Air. Last month, there were five sales of $ 10 million or more including two transactions of $ 21.5 million or more.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
