Food delivery robot hits the Portuguese market

BUT The Bellabot robot is Beltrão Coelho’s latest robotic addition to the national market, according to a Portuguese company dedicated to technological innovation in a business context.

The robot has enhanced interaction capabilities, which means that it responds to the user’s voice commands using artificial intelligence algorithms.

“Its design has been specifically thought out to adapt to its functions as optimally as possible,” it says.

From the height – perfect for table setting, easy plate placement and screen access – to a design aesthetic that’s slim enough to move between obstacles yet roomy enough to hold 10 platforms.

The equipment is equipped with 3D sensors, so it has the ability to stop at any angle, drive away and quickly change route as soon as it encounters obstacles, thanks to the barrier detection rate up to 5400 times per minute, which allows locking with a response time of only 0.5 seconds shows that same note.

Bellabot also has indicator lights that make user interaction even easier and clearer. An example of this are trays whose lights turn on and off depending on the dish being served.

The robot also demonstrates its “empathy” by reacting to the user’s touch with light effects, which are accompanied by “comical” responses from dozens of emotional facial expressions.

“In terms of battery, the Bellabot has a battery life of 12 hours, however an additional battery can be purchased and easily replaced, so a 24/7 scenario is easily achievable for this equipment.”

Another unique feature of Bellabot is the introduction of the PUDU programmer, which allows 20 Bellabots to work at the same time, which means that each robot can directly communicate with any other robot on the same network, quickly calculate and make decisions.

“At Beltrão Coelho, we are attentive to what the market has to offer and this is another example of our premise. Bellabot is a step forward in terms of the natural adoption of robotics in Portugal and at the national level, and the restaurant and hospitality sector will be able to greatly benefit from this new equipment, which we will make available today.” emphasizes Bruno Coelho, responsible for the robotics section at Beltrao Coelho.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
