Five Giants cornerbacks can be considered

Lottery Logan Ryan may have a new bidder.

The Giants face the possibility that one of their early cornerbacks might not play for them again, after the 2019 first round draft pick DeAndre Baker was charged with four counts of armed robbery with firearms and four counts of aggravated attacks. The status of the list remained unchanged (he had not been arrested) on Friday night.

Cornerback is a big necessity for the Giants when the offseason starts, which is why most of the free agent spending goes to James Bradberry to start fighting Baker. If the Giants return to free agents to replace Baker, they will do so with $ 16.6 million in available cap space, per NFLPA record, before accounting for nearly $ 7 million needed to complete the signing of the 2020 class draft.

The following are the top available options, with their age in parentheses:

Logan Ryan (29): The original product and Rutgers products came from New Jersey throughout his career year, with 105 tackles, 4.5 sacks and four interception with the Titans. He spent his first four seasons with the Patriots, where he played a special team under new Giants coach Joe Judge. Ryan said the Titans were not interested even when he offered to return with a one-year deal, $ 10 million (without a raise). Jet is a part of the market.

Dre Kirkpatrick (30): The former draft first round pick played 99 games and made 67 starts over eight seasons for the Bengals. He finished last season with an injury due to a knee injury and was released in March. He starred at the University of Alabama during Judge’s term as assistant coach.

Darqueze Dennard (28): Another former Bengal, Dennard thought he had reached a three-year, $ 13.5 million agreement with Jaguar in March, but failed. He was ranked No. cornerback 25 in the NFL last season, per Pro Football Focus.

Brandon Carr (33): How is this to stabilize an uncertain situation? Carr has never missed a match in his 12-year NFL career, starting all 192 possible matches for Chiefs, Cowboys and Ravens. The Ravens turned down an option on Carr’s contract in March, but the Giants could offer the chance to reunite the former Cowboys with position coach Jerome Henderson.

B.W. Webb (30): Webb is the definition of day labor, a team that changes after each of the last eight seasons. He played on his contract for the Giants in 2018 and emerged as a leader in the young dressing room. The Giants were priced by the Bengals (three years, $ 10.5 million) last season, but Webb was cut in March.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
