Sporting CP won the Portuguese Handball Cup this Sunday by beating Porto 36:35 after extra time at the Matosinhos Congress Centre.
The Lions started the game better, winning by two goals, but the White-Blues reacted and even managed to confidently take the lead (15-10), reaching the break to win with a score of 15-13.
Only by the end of the second half, the “Lions” managed to level the score (24-24) and even take the lead of the meeting, but the “Dragons” reached equality (26-26), forcing extra time. Here, Porto regained the lead, but in the last seconds, Schongart tied (30:30), forcing another extra time.
In a game that featured Francisco Costa (13 goals), the lion’s team took the win at the start of the second extra time and managed to prevent a draw for the Dragons, who thus could not Scar. The party was green and white.
