Favorites include Lissauer Vieira, Flavia Morais, Zacharias Kahlil, Jefferson Rodriguez and Celio Silveira.

Of course, more than 61 politicians will compete for 17 seats in the Chamber of Deputies in October 2022 – a year and a month from now. The names listed were submitted by party leaders and do not mean that they are favorites, but according to the leaders, they are the most iconic figures, at least for now.

Some party leaders, such as Horselino Braga of the Patriota, have been careful in nominating their preliminary candidates. Two of them said that if they now give all the names, the leaders of other parties “will go to the murder” to defeat them. It’s even possible.

Former minister Enrique Meirelles is emerging as a federal candidate, as some party leaders are talking about. But he told his allies, such as SDP President Vilmar Rocha, that he was only interested in the dispute over the Senate seat. Cristovan Tormin has even been quoted, but a source close to him claims that he will run for state deputy. State MP Wilde Cambao (SDP) is on the list, but there are those who point to him as a possible candidate for re-election. The fact is that, since they are from Luzia and share the same political group, if Thormin is to cover the entire state, Cambao will have to leave the race – choosing a seat in the Chamber of Deputies.

Federal Deputy Delegate Valdir Soares asks for a seat in the Senate. But in the end, party leaders called him a possible candidate for the federal government. If he is running for re-election, he is cited as a possible champion of the vote.

It is likely that some of those listed will not run in the 2022 elections or will change with a political project. And, of course, other names will appear, sometimes even higher than those listed. However, at the moment 61 mentioned people have been appointed with warriors who will contest 17 seats in Goias in Brasilia.
