To avoid the usual queues at ticket machines or ticket offices at stations for renewing monthly pass subscriptions, Fertagus has launched a new service via a smartphone app. From this Tuesday, October 26th, you will be able to plan and buy your Fertagus train and SulFertagus bus rides through the app. The purchase and monthly payment of the Lisboa Viva / Navegante card can also be done in the app.

The Pick Hub app, developed by Ubirider, will allow Lisboa Viva / Navegante cardholders to pay a monthly pass wherever they want, even if they do not use Fertagus’ transport services.

The renewal process seems straightforward, you just have to follow the payment process and eventually touch your transport ticket to your mobile phone to charge it via the NFC connection. This feature currently works on Android, Huawei and iPhone 7 smartphones, devices that support NFC technology.

“Fertagus is innovating in terms of paying for individual tickets to travel from one point to another, as well as in terms of debiting Lisboa Viva / Navegante cards. Thanks to the cooperation with TML, it will be possible for the first time to pay and collect a monthly transport ticket through the app, with all the convenience and safety for the user of the transport network in the Lisbon metropolitan area, ”said the President of Fertagus. Ana Cristina Durado in a statement.

The app is based on the Pick platform created by the Porto-based startup Ubirider, which aims to help people navigate cities by offering information and payments in the most integrated and efficient way possible. With the Pick Hub app, users can plan their trips, as well as buy tickets and passes, with a focus on maintaining real-time information.

Ubirider says it has partnered with Fertagus since 2018, when the startup was created, to develop and test digital features to improve the quality of transportation services.

Pick Hub app available for hardware Android e iOS, but an update for payouts is scheduled for the 26th.
