From time to time, we find that there are still many rarities to be discovered in the world of video games. And above all, this applies to some copies of electronic games, which are kept in perfect condition for several years and which then become real valuable items for collectors.

In this sense, a new sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. for the NES, never opened before, has now sold for a record $ 2 million.

We have already written several times here about copies of video games that were sold at completely extraordinary prices because they are so high. Some examples are play The Legend of Zelda sold at auction for $ 870,000 and the original Super Mario Brothers sealed for $ 117,000. In addition to these, another copy Super Mario 64 1996 was sold for an impressive $ 1.56 million, which set a new record.

But these are real "boys" compared to the price at which another copy of Super Mario Bros. was recently sold.

Super Mario Bros. sealed copy sold for a million dollars

The world of video game collectors has just set a new record for the sale value of a product. This is a sealed, never opened copy of the 1985 NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) Super Mario Bros game that sold for a staggering $ 2 million (~ € 1.7 million) on a collectibles website.

According to The New York Times, the game was not only sealed but also very well preserved. The sale was carried out through the website Rally and the buyer did not want his identity to be revealed.

The New York Times, founder of the Rally website Rob Petrozzo, says he has noticed a significant increase in interest in older games on his platform. So if the trend continues, who knows if we will have new games with retro designs soon.
