Windows 11 is losing popularity on Steam

Every month, Valve discloses data about Steam users, namely their hardware and software configurations. While these values only apply to the Steam user universe, they give a good indication of the performance of their systems in general and the market.

And if you take into account data for October, there is bad news for Microsoft. This is because Windows 11 has registered a crash among all Steam users.

The data shows that Windows 11 saw a nearly 1.47% drop in user usage of Steam, from 24.84% in September to 23.37% in October. This will still be a significant drop in value, especially considering that it is in the gaming market that most users prefer to have systems in the latest versions.

On the other hand, Windows 10 continues to be the favorite system of users with a share of 68.91%, up 0.42% from the previous period. Interestingly, Windows 7 still has a significant platform lead of 3.59%, up 1.19% from the previous month.

Once again, it is important to emphasize that this data only applies to Steam users, including those who have agreed to share their system data with Valve. However, this will certainly be an important drop percentage to consider.

One of the criticisms of Windows 11 is the hardware limitations that limit it to only the latest systems on the market – and even systems that can still start the system correctly may have unsupported processors. This has caused many users to stick with Windows 10.
