A sound issue found in Windows 10 has just been resolved by Microsoft. However, it is only available to those who download and install the latest optional update KB5003690. I remember that after the last cumulative updates Windows 10 started having strange sound issues. An example of this is a crash where the computer seemed to beep.

Windows 10: New Update Solves Big Sound Problem!

Sound issues on Windows 10 were first reported in April, and this is a particularly serious issue. This is because it bothers users and when you least expect it. In any case, this only affected devices with a certain sound setting. For example, who uses Dolby and 5.1 settings.

As I said, this can only be solved with an additional patch update. Thus, it remains available for those who have installed only the June updates, and is available in versions 21H1 and 2004.

If you do not want to install this optional update, you will have to wait until July 2021. When the next patch comes out on Tuesday.

Windows 10 KB5003690 was released for versions 21H1, v20H2, and v2004 through Windows Update. For those interested, Microsoft has also posted direct download links for offline installers for Windows 10 KB5003690. This way, you can apply the patch if the installation fails via Windows Update. In any case, it’s important to know that this new Windows 10 update brings speed bumps in addition to addressing the audio issue.

If we search the internet a little, we can see that many PC users suffer from various problems.

FPS drops, graphics problems, jumps and this is when the game does not crash.

In fact, after many tests, it was definitely determined that the problems were indeed related to the March update, and even others were unable to fix them.

BUT Microsoft took care of it and even released a server side fix in April that seemed to even fix the issue. It looked like it, but in reality things only got better for a few. Thus, several people continued to complain about FPS losses.

Microsoft has now confirmed again that it is aware of the issue and has also resolved it once and for all with a new cumulative update.
