WhatsApp is preparing big news for iPad users

IPad users have been looking forward to a dedicated WhatsApp app, but it will take a while, and for those who really need to use the messaging app on Apple’s tablet, they should be using the iPhone version, which is of course nothing. OK.

But, apparently, the wait is coming to an end, as Mark Zuckerberg himself hinted that the app is indeed part of Apple’s tablet line. Now the folks at 9to5Mac have gotten more information showing that the long-awaited version of Whatsapp for iPadOS is indeed coming out.

Apparently, WhatsApp’s next multi-device 2.0 feature is in its final stages of development. With the new feature, users will be able to use the iPad as a new linked device. It will be much better than the current multi-device feature. This requires your smartphone to be constantly connected to the internet, which basically mirrors WhatsApp on third-party devices, as WhatsApp already does for desktop.

Interestingly, even Android tablets will support multi-device functionality in WhatsApp for Android. According to the information, Facebook is preparing to launch support for multiple devices up to four devices and one smartphone. Users can even use it on their computers through a browser, or perhaps through a new application that can be launched.

According to a WhatsApp spokesperson in an interview TechRadarThis feature will allow people to use WhatsApp “without having to connect their smartphone,” which is a change from what has happened so far.

Compatibility with multiple devices will allow users to maintain a WhatsApp connection even without their smartphones. However, WaBetaInfo claims that there is a specific version of the iPad app. A future update will be released with a new feature. It will be a native app that will work independently of your iPhone and may soon be available for WhatsApp beta testers.

But perhaps that’s not Facebook’s only bet on the iPad. Some information also indicates that Facebook is also working on an iPadOS version of Instagram.
