Don Pettit’s last flight into space was in 2012, but an American astronaut proves that a decade isn’t long enough for photographs taken “among the stars” to lose their beauty. just look at images shared by the celebrity photographer on his Twitter and Facebook accounts..

The most recent one caused some “hype” because, at first glance, it may not be obvious, but if you look closely, you will see that it is long-exposure image showing the Earth through the windows of the space station’s Dome module. Looking to the bottom left corner of the image, you can even see some pretty star trails.

“Long exposure fisheye view of Earth from the Dome aboard the ISS,” the astronaut tweeted. “Below, the city lights shimmer, and orange streaks and faint star trails, showing the rotation of the Earth, are visible in the lower left corner. Astrophotography can find interesting ways to combine science and art!”

Don Pettit visited space three times, last time 10 years ago, in 2012, bringing together a wide range of images that he usually “reviews” on social media. You can see some of them in the SAPO TEK gallery.
