EThe controversy in Spanish football is established, in view of the new Sports Law laid down by the government. The vast majority of clubs are afraid to suffer at the expense of the strongest, such as Real Madrid and Barcelona, so they are considering drastic measures.
On the table is the opportunity to go on strike and thereby completely “freeze” the two main echelons. In a statement made this Monday to a Spanish newspaper AsRoig Negeroles, Villarreal’s chief adviser, explained what is at stake now.
“It is absurd not to listen to 95% of professional clubs. With the current version of the Law, we run the risk of legalizing many issues and creating a very significant financial problem,” he began, before making an interesting comparison.
“We have to build a strong championship. With this Law, everything will be the other way around. We will go from one of the five great championships to Belgian, Dutch or Portuguese. With one or two great teams,” he concluded.
