James Franco first spoke about the sexual assault allegations he was targeted in 2019 with two students from his former acting school, Studio 4, which opened from 2014 to 2017.
The 43-year-old actor was accused by two young women of trying to “create a channel for young women who were personally and professionally sexually exploited in the name of education.” Students claimed that the actor intimidated future actresses and forced them to film explicit sex scenes during class. James Franco has always denied the accusations. In February 2021, the complaints were dismissed by agreement between the actor and the students.
Now, in an interview with The Jess Cagle podcast, Franco admits that he had sex with his students, but that these were “consensual situations” that “should never have happened.”
“I admit that I actually had sex with students. But I haven’t slept with anyone in this particular class. During the course I was teaching, I had sex with students and it was wrong. But, as I said, I started a school (…) But yes, there were situations with students by mutual agreement, and this should not have happened, ”he said.
The actor goes even further and admits that he was “addicted to recognition and success” and was never faithful in their relationship, with the exception of Isabel Pakzad, his current girlfriend.
“I am addicted to recognition and success. Success and female attention have become great forms of confirmation for me. It is a powerful drug. I have been addicted for over 20 years. (…) I have never been faithful to anyone. I betrayed everyone. in front of Isabelle, ”he added.
