A walk-through facility has been built at Puto Novo-Ogaryovo’s residence outside Moscow. Russian leaders have largely worked from home via video conferencing during the Covid-19 pandemic, with only a few direct meetings.
The tunnel was designed to disinfect all people who passed by it with “fine water mist,” the RIA report said.
The agency said the announcement of the tunnel installation was made by Ivan Belozertsev, governor of Russia’s Penza region.
Belozertsev said the technology was developed by a local company called Motor Technologies, which assembles washing equipment for car and industrial applications, RIA reported.
In April, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that everyone who met with the Russian president would be tested for the corona virus and that all such promises would be held at social distance.
Russia has recorded the third highest number of coronavirus cases globally. It has reported more than 550,000 infections and 7,400 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University calculations.
