For those who don’t know Steam Deck is an prefix laptop out Valve, style Nintendo Switchwhich allows you to play PC games, and now it turns out that it can run Windows. However, it looks like the console will have incompatibility issues with Windows 11, mainly due to the lack of Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs). But it looks like this could soon be resolved.

“TPM has a job right now”– said Greg Coomer, one of the designers on the Steam Deck. “Until now, we’ve been so focused on Windows 10 that we haven’t gotten very far in this area. We hope we can get there. “he added. He also revealed that Valve is working with AMD to provide BIOS-level TPM support for Windows 11 compatibility. “So far, nothing says that there will be problems with Windows 11”– said the designer. After all, why AMD? Because the console uses a chip created in collaboration with AMD, it’s pretty simple.

Steam Deck will support Windows 11

So the Steam Deck, which first ships in December, should be able to run Windows 11 without any problems. The handheld console will leave the factory running SteamOS, a modified version of Linux. But Valve has already said it will not block Windows installation, and this potentially opens the door to even more games not available on Steam. For example, you can play games with Xbox Game Pass or even PlayStation Now.

The console costs € 419 for the 64GB model, € 549 for the 256GB model, and € 679 for the 512GB model. The 64GB model has eMMC storage and the other two have SSD NVMe storage. It’s much more fun to have faster games load times and a better overall experience.
