The news was spread by Agence France Presse (AFP), which cites court documents: in a complaint filed Friday with the Florida court where Donald Trump resides, the former US president denounced “censorship” against himself, violating what he said was freedom of speech, protected in the United States by the sacred First Amendment to the Constitution.

Twitter announced the suspension of @realDonaldTrump “indefinitely due to the risk of further incitement to violence” on January 8, two days after the attack and invasion of the Capitol by hundreds of supporters of the former president who wanted to block the Democrat’s certification. Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election last November.

Five people died during or shortly after the attack, including a police officer and a protester who was shot down while trying to break into one of the doors inside the building with dozens of people.

Donald Trump believes, as you can read in court documents, that Twitter, to which he had over 88 million followers, was “forced” to suspend his account by the US Parliament.

The platform “has a certain amount of power and control over the political discourse in the country. [Estados Unidos] which is huge, unprecedented and deeply dangerous to open democratic debate, ”the complaint says, which points out that even the Taliban in power in Afghanistan can“ tweet ”.

Twitter, contacted by AFP, refrained from commenting on the news.

Donald Trump, who left the White House on January 20 following his defeat at Joe Biden, has also been temporarily or permanently banned from most other major social media or internet platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube or Snapchat.
