Rumors have been circulating on Twitter for a long time, but confirmation came when Taylor Swift stepped onto the red carpet of the MTV Europe Music Awards. The American singer flew from London to Dusseldorf this Sunday, November 13 (fans followed the trip on air travel requests) and returned home with a suitcase full of awards.
The artist, who has been breaking records in recent weeks with Midnight, has won four awards. Taylor Swift won the EMAs for Best Performer, Best Video, Best Pop and Best Long Video for “Everything’s Too Good (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)”. Stepping on the PSD Bank Dome stage several times, the artist thanked all the fans for their support.
Having received an award for the video for “All To Hell”, Taylor Swift remembered the help of Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink, the main characters of the production.
Apart from Taylor Swift, none of the top nominees were in Dusseldorf – Harry Styles, who led the race with seven nominations including Best Artist, Best Song and Best Video, missed and won only the EMA for Best performance”. Despite rumors, Nicki Minaj did not go to Germany either – the artist was awarded for “Best Song” with “Super Freaky Girl”, “Best Hip-Hop”.
Harry Styles, who was in the lead, won the EMA for Best Performance. Rita Ora won in the Personal Style category for Best Image, while Sam Smith and Kim Petras won the EMA Award for Video for the Good.
The ceremony, presented by Rita Ora and Taika Waititi, took place at the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf and included a special performance by the Ukrainian band Kalush, the Ukrainian band that won the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
Playing at home, Kraftwerk presented the audience with an amazing performance using digital special effects and a giant stage structure.
