Ukraine issues search warrant for Chechen leader – Observer

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has launched a search and capture of the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, who is considered one of the strong men of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In August, Ukrainian authorities accused Kadyrov of waging a “war of aggression” and take “deliberate actions to change the borders of the territory of Ukraine”.

Now the Ukrainian intelligence services have updated their database and added a photo of the Chechen leader, claiming that he was hiding from the authorities during the pre-trial investigation.”

If captured and judged according to Ukrainian laws, Kadyrov can be sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison.

Considered one of the strong men of the Russian president, Kadyrov has been a vocal supporter of the war in Ukraine, sending many of his own military patrols, as well as patrols belonging to his family, to the front lines.

Other Russian representatives and officials also appear on the wanted list, for example, the director of the SBU Alexander Bortnikov; head of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov or Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
