184 teams representing all 55 UEFA associations. This begins the explanation of what the new UEFA Conference League will be like.

The organization that manages the European competition explained the format of the competition this Monday, the first final of which will take place in Tirana, Albania on May 25, 2022. Also note that the competition games are scheduled for Thursday and the fact that the winner has direct access to the group stage of the Europa League next season.

How it works?

The competition is attended by 184 teams. It all starts with three qualifying stages with two paths, champions and principals. Teams eliminated from the qualifying rounds of the Europa League and Champions League will also participate in the qualifying rounds.

This is followed by the group stage with eight groups of four teams. At this stage, there are 17 qualified teams from the Main Way, five from the Champions Way and 10 teams that have been eliminated in the playoffs to gain access to the Europa League group stage.

The winners of the eight groups advance to the round of 16, while the runners-up contest the playoffs with the eight teams finishing third in the Europa League.

The competition then begins as usual, with the eighth, fourth, semi-finals and finals, as in other UEFA club events.
