Ubisoft employees stand in solidarity with Activision Blizzard’s attackers

About 500 Ubisoft employees signed an open letter in solidarity with their fellow Activision Blizzard colleagues, who marked the day of the strike in protest against the company’s stance. At the same time, a letter from Ubisoft employees criticized the way the company responded to the allegations of sexual harassment to which it was directed.

In the news prepared by Axios and confirmed by IGN International, several current and former Ubisoft employees signed a letter of solidarity with Blizzard employees.

Blizzard is experiencing turbulent times after the state of California filed a lawsuit against the company – the result of a two-year investigation that generated dozens of testimonies about multiple incidents of sexual harassment, discrimination and a toxic professional culture.

The Ubisoft letter begins with explicit support from Blizzard employees, emphasizing that the identified situations have been “known to too many” in the industry for a long time.

The letter is then also addressed to Ubisoft executives, arguing that the company is inappropriate to combat discrimination and harassment within the company:

“We have seen nothing but a year of kind words, empty promises and an inability or unwillingness to eliminate known criminals. We no longer trust your commitment to address these inherent problems. You need to do more. “

The letter accuses Ubisoft management of having just fired the most public offenders, while many others have been promoted or transferred to other studios or teams.

Axios posted whole letter, in another episode of the recent Activision Blizzard scandal. Several key studio figures have criticized the company’s reaction at a time when more and more voices are uniting against injustice in the professional video game industry.
