Twitter announced on Tuesday that a limited number of users with a large audience on the US platform can test new features that will allow them to offer formats and paid content.

The social network has started accepting applications from users who want to make money from their content with options like Ticketed Spaces or Super Follows.

“Ticketed Spaces helps you create live audio recordings on Twitter Spaces that your audience can pay for,” Twitter product managers Ellen Hawlicek and Esther Crawford explained in a statement.

“The Super Follows option will allow you to establish direct relationships with the most loyal followers who can generate monthly income,” added the responsible persons.

Through Ticketed Spaces, Twitter stars will be able to sell virtual admission tickets to audio events ranging from $ 1 to $ 999.

“Super” subscribers, in turn, will be able to pay monthly packages of three, five or $ 10 for access to exclusive content.

“We want to help make Twitter not only a friendly space to interact with the public, but also a place where they can make money through stimulating conversations,” guaranteed the social network’s product managers.

Twitter gets 3% of the revenue from these two new features, up to a maximum of $ 50,000. Above this amount, the social network charges a commission of 20%.

Revenue can enable a company to diversify its revenue streams, which are currently based primarily on advertising.
