Twitter founder Jack Dorsey apologized to the company’s employees, taking responsibility for the dismissal carried out by new owner Elon Musk.

Dorsey lamented that he “made the company grow too fast” and said he was solely responsible for the decision, which has now led to the layoff of almost half of the workers.

“I realized that many [pessoas] angry at me. I am responsible for everyone in this situation: I grew too fast in the company. And I apologize for this, ”the founder of the social network wrote in his profile.

Dorsey also emphasized that the faces of Twitter now and tomorrow are “strong and resilient” and that therefore the company will “always find a way, no matter how difficult the moment.”

“I am grateful and love everyone who has ever worked on Twitter. I don’t expect it to be mutual,” he said at the end of the post.

Dorsey stepped down as the company’s chief executive in November 2021 and has ceased serving on decision-making bodies since May last year.

Recently, Elon Musk reported that the social network Twitter is losing four million dollars (about four million euros) a day, thus justifying the dismissal of staff.

Without specifying the total number of layoffs, Musk justified his decision in a message published on this network: “there is no choice when a company is losing about four million a day.”
