President Trump said on Monday that the coronavirus vaccine could be delivered by October, saying it would be “very safe and effective.”

During a Labor Day press conference at the White House on Monday, the president touted his administration’s program Operation Warp Speed, a public-private partnership he announced in May that will produce a vaccine against the new coronavirus.

TRUMP SAYS BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION WILL DESTROY THE COUNTRY, THE ECONOMY

“We are the absolute leader in every way,” Trump said on Monday. “Under my leadership, we will produce the vaccine in record time.”

The president went on to say that the vaccine could become available “during October.”

“The vaccine will be very safe and effective,” he continued. “People will be happy, people of the world will be happy.”

“You could be in for a very big surprise,” Trump said Monday, apparently referring to the vaccine.

The president has repeatedly said the vaccine will be available by the end of the year, but his comments on Monday seemed to suggest that a possible COVID-19 vaccine could become available to the public ahead of November’s elections.

The president continued to criticize the Democrats, claiming that they were “dismissive of the vaccine.”

“This is so contrary to all lies. This is a political lie, ”Trump said. “And this is so dangerous for our country.”

He added: “The vaccine will be very safe and very effective.”
