DX is one of the most notorious groups in wrestling due to their more irreverent and unfriendly attitude towards families and youth.
This behavior has caused resentment. US network e Triple Hin an interview with SPORTBible, he said that it came to the point that Vince McMahon threatened to fire The Game every week, and even remembered the famous promo referring to the letter from USA Network due to the language used by the group:
We said, “Let’s take a letter and use it on television” (Vince McMahon) asked, “In what way? I said, “Let’s make it a comedy.”
He said, “Okay, make sure it’s funny,” but he has a pretty skewed idea of what’s funny, so that’s okay. We did it like a presidential podium and the three of us went up to the podium like Sean (Michaels) was the president and we were chasing him.
We went through the list of words and they squeaked out the words we weren’t allowed to say. We said, “It’s straight from the USA, we in D Generation X apologize for our attitude, let’s stop saying words…” and went through the whole list.
The next day we got an email from the US saying “Congratulations on yesterday’s rankings, what DX did with our email was funny.” Congratulations on your success, many more years to come.
