Two of the top US universities were evacuated this Sunday due to a bomb threat. Cornell University and Columbia University in New York State received explosive ordnance threats at multiple locations on campus.

These two institutions are part of the so-called “Ivy League,” a sports conference attended by eight of the best private universities in the United States.

In a series of tweets, Cornell University in Ithaca urged all workers and visitors to leave the school and surrounding buildings immediately. Information calls about the bomb were made to the police.

Please do not call the Cornell police unless it is urgent. “– asked in the institution, which has 21 thousand students.

Columbia University, which has 31,000 students and is located in Manhattan, has evacuated all three buildings in the complex, advising everyone to stay away from the site.

At the same time, there were bomb threats at Brown University in Rhode Island, also from the Ivy League.

With over 7,000 students, Brown learned of the threat over the phone.

It is the second such threat this weekend after another bomb threat sparked panic at Yale, Connecticut, which is also an Ivy League member.
