It’s already official: Samsung has removed its Galaxy Note 8 from its update list.

This means the hardware has expired as it will no longer receive software and security updates.

After four years of updates, the Galaxy Note 8 has come to the end of its life cycle.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will no longer receive software or security updates. This is because the South Korean giant has removed it from the hardware list for future updates.

But over the past four years, device users have received frequent updates, including a security patch for the Android operating system released last August. Apparently, this will be the last update for the Galaxy Note 8.

In terms of operating system, the Galaxy Note 8 was limited to Android 9 as the brand did not plan to provide the terminal with more operating system updates.

Samsung won’t release Note models in 2021

Remember the Note 8 was released in 2017 and at the time it was one of the first models to feature dual rear cameras. It was also one of the devices that contributed the most to the success of the Note series.

However, the tech giant has already announced that it will not release any new Note models in 2021. This justified its option by the global shortage of chips and potential conflicts with other existing products.
